    In groups of two, students receive a sheet with verbs and a dice. Each number on the dice is assigned a different form (yo, tú,nosotros, etc.) They roll the dice. The first student to say it correctly does not have to write out the form. The other student must write it out correctly. They must check their completed forms with me when they are done.

    I play with groups of 4-5 students. Each group numbers off so there is a person assigned a number in each group. If one group has 4 and another has 3, one person will have two numbers. They have 30 seconds to practice a verb in a particular tense (6 forms in Spanish) in their groups. I call a number and that person from each group races to the board and writes the 6 forms in 30 seconds with no help from their group. They get one point for each correct answer.

    Row (Team) Conjugation Practice (BS)
    I use this to do a quick review of verb forms in any tense. It also works well to practice multiple tenses together. It is a fast paced competition that includes both teamwork for review and individual performance. the students really enjoy and benefit from it.

    I add dots to all of the corners on this sheet and add a few lines connecting dots. This is a small group activity. Student cannot finish off the square and earn the square without knowing the vocabulary by signing to the group members. Student with the highest number of squares wins.

    When we do readings in Spanish II, I have used this pre-reading strategy to help students understand the themes and vocabulary of the story ahead of time. I give them ten main words from the story (names, objects, themes, places, etc). The students job is to place the word in a box based on where they think it belongs ( i.e. place, character, problem, solutions, I don't know, etc.) When they have done this, they then create their own short story in groups as pre-reading. They find out if they are correct as they read. {Probablepassage.doc}

    This is a class activity to review verb forms and vocabulary that is new. Write all of the vocabulary on the whiteboard in different colors and at different angles. Divide the class into teams. Each team sends up a representative to play. They must find the correct word/verb on the board based on description or direct translation. This can also be used with pictures. The first student to swat the correct word and say it correctly wins a point for their team.
